Authentic Corporate Photography Instead of Stock Photos: Why It's Worth Using Your Own Images

Before a customer contacts a company, they have often already formed a first impression of it.

Even before a face-to-face meeting takes place, potential customers visit the website, see a post on LinkedIn, or learn more about a company. Images play a crucial role in this process. Within a matter of seconds, they convey who is behind a company and what kind of impression it makes on the outside world.

Stock photos can be a quick solution. But they often show generic offices, staged meetings, and people who have nothing to do with your company.

For me, corporate photography is about something else.

The goal is to show a company as it really is—the people who work there, the facilities, the products, and, above all, the atmosphere.

That said, professional corporate photos don’t have to look artificial or perfectly staged. On the contrary: the best images often result from photographing real-life situations. Employees at work, a team discussion, or small details from everyday work life can say much more about a company than a stock photo.

At the same time, I make sure that the photos look professional and align with the company's existing visual style and brand.

As a business photographer, I work with companies primarily in Zurich, Zug, and Aargau, but I also travel throughout Switzerland for photo shoots.

Original images build trust.

We've all been there: we visit a website and want to know who we're dealing with. Authentic portraits and behind-the-scenes glimpses give a company a face.

This personal impression is especially important when it comes to services where people work together. Customers don’t see just any faces from a photo database—they see the very people they may encounter later on.

This fosters a sense of closeness and makes a company more relatable.

What many people underestimate:

A professional corporate photo shoot does more than just provide a few pictures for the website. With the right planning, a diverse visual narrative can be created in a single shoot.

Employee portraits, workplace scenes, team photos, close-ups, photos of the office space, and various portrait and landscape formats can then be used for the website, LinkedIn, social media, presentations, brochures, or other marketing purposes.

This results in visual content that can be used over an extended period of time while also ensuring a consistent brand image.

It's important to me that people feel comfortable in front of my camera. Not everyone enjoys being in front of a camera, so I try to create a relaxed atmosphere and let situations unfold as naturally as possible.

For me, the best photos are the ones where you don't immediately stop to think about how they were taken. They look professional, but still authentic.

After all, good corporate photography doesn't just show any old company.

It showcases your company, your employees, and your history.

Stock photos can complement your content. However, when it comes to building trust, showcasing your personality, and setting yourself apart from other companies, using your own photos can make all the difference.

After all, at the end of the day, people don't just want to see what a company has to offer. They want to see who's behind it.
